Safe Place Program
Safe Place Program
Terrible Herbst Convenience Stores in Clark County partnered with the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth and launched the “Safe Place” program in January 2002. "Safe Place" provides access to immediate assistance and resources to young people in crisis.

Available 24 hours a day, any youth in crisis can go to all Terrible Herbst Convenience Store locations in Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, Mesquite, Laughlin, Searchlight and Pahrump, Nevada. When the youth accesses a Safe Place Site, they are moved to a secure location while a trained Terrible Herbst staff member contacts the homeless youth Mobile Crisis Intervention Team. A licensed professional arrives to the site within 20 minutes of the call to assist the youth with basic medical care (if necessary) and transports the youth to an appropriate alternative location (relative’s house, shelter, drug rehabilitation facility, etc.).

Over 200 Las Vegas youth have been served through Safe Place in Las Vegas.
